Summery; Walter remembers.

Walter had lived a very long time. He had few roles but each was important to him. He could also remember everyone he had met who worked in the same line of work. He remembered familes too who were deeply involved.

He remembered Rupert Giles and his rebellion against his father. Sir Integra’s father had almost approached him about joining Hellsing but alas it hadn’t happened. Ethan Rayne had seen to that. Walter hadn’t gotten to meet young Mister Giles.

Now years latter Walter regrets that. He can see the dangerous young man hiding behind the mask of the well cultured leader of the New Watchers Council. Walter remembers having to hide his own dangerous nature when he became the retainer for the Hellsing organization. It had been better that way. He knows that for young Mr. Giles it had to have been the same way.

He’ll just have to see what young Mr. Giles and his New Council wants. It really shouldn’t be too difficult. Mr. Giles is open and honest. He looks forward to meeting with Sir Hellsing and opening up a partnership in protecting Great Britain from the scourge of Vampires and demons. That he understands entirely.

Title: Congratulations, Counselor, it's a Boy
Author: [livejournal.com profile] beatrice_otter
Word Count: 100
Fandom: BtVS/Star Trek: The Next Generation
Challenge: #72: Forgotten and Remembered
Notes: ends during the TNG episode The Child, in which an alien energy being impregnates Counselor Troi.

All mortals, including Dawn Summers, die eventually. The Key is not mortal.

When its shell dies, the Key wanders the universe, reconnecting with others of its own kind. The Key remembers the joys of life spent dancing among stars, galaxies, universes, the fabric of existence laid out before it.

The Key forgets demons and hellgods, vampires and slayers, faces of loved ones. Flesh does not matter to energy.

But at last, it stumbles across a metal container full of air called Enterprise, full of mortals. It remembers a thing called “home” and thinks, perhaps I’ll be a boy, this time.
