Awww, poor Chuck! In other news, I hear that Chuck actually officially got named Chuck in canon recently; is there a word yet for fandom anti-jossing canon? Chuck needs more love. =)

3/6!

Looking forward to seeing those episodes. Do you mean "anti-jossing" as in, that should be the word? Or as in, what the heck did I mean by that? =)

Can't wait to read the rest of them! (But not filling up my f-list all at once is also appreciated).

Sorry. =)

It's just, you know how when Buffy was still on the air, and people would write things speculating about things that hadn't happened yet or hadn't been mentioned on the show, and then Joss would go off in a completely unexpected direction? For example, those who wrote stories about Spike's rough younger years before we found out about the "Bloody Awful Poet" in Season 5? After the episode aired, those speculative stories would be referred to as "Jossed". (Whereas stories written after that ignored the new canon were merely AU). Because, you know, Joss stomped all over that idea.

The term even has a Wiki entry now: Jossed

I've seen the term show up in dozens of other fandoms in the last several years, including the 'Gates, as former obsessive Buffy fans dispersed. So, in summary, it only makes sense to me that a thing fans come up with, that's later written INTO the show instead of OVER, might be called "anti-Jossed".
