She had a degree, several in fact. She’d held several positions in English academia. She’d been head of research for the NWC. She spoke over twenty languages. She was well versed in hand to hand combat. So, what the hell was she doing here?

Everyone said it was a good idea; get to know the new slayers as they came up through school. She sat and stared round the brightly coloured room, more scared than she’d been years. She’d read the class lists, why Giles had given her this particular group, she didn’t know.

Angelica Pickles was just the start.

Buffy was having a hard time of it. This was worse than Kindergarten. Dropping her off at the gates had been more harrowing than an apocalypse on the scale of Adam.

This was worse. Much worse. This made her feel old. Made her feel part of her life was over. She should be happy, she got to feel old. Her daughter was being dropped off at the gates… of Harvard.

Her husband put an arm across her shoulders and leaned in towards her, “She’ll be fine; she’s a little bit of you.”

She smiled, “And you, Draco.”

She’ll be ok.
