My entries on the elements challenge.

title: Air
word count: 100
fandom: Smallville (Dru/Lana)
challenge: #18 - the elements

"Quiet!" Drusilla chastised the girl.

The girl kicked, screamed, but Drusilla didn't mind. It was better when they fought. Daddy taught her that.

Miss Edith had told her that this one had a fallen star who watched her. Drusilla had always wanted to see a fallen star.

She climbed the last step to the high loft and yanked the girl to her feet. There were angry tears on her face, and Drusilla felt a moment's pang. This one would have been a good doll.

"Shh," she said. "We're going to see if your fallen star can fly to catch you."

title: Earth
word count: 100
fandom: SG-1 (Wesley/Sam)
challenge: #18 - the elements

Wesley stared at the dirty Egyptian pot and sighed. It wasn't an Urn of Osiris after all. The tag read "Urn of Osiris," but the damned thing was probably just a water urn.

Wesley turned to go and almost ran into a blonde woman who had been hovering by the display. "Terribly sorry," Wesley said at his most British.

"No, it was my fault," the woman said.

Wesley nodded and walked away.

Sam's smile faded slowly. She stared at the urn until Daniel came over. "So?"

"He's not Goa'uld," Sam murmured. "So why was he so interested in Osiris's urn?"

title: Water
word count: 100
fandom: Anita Blake (Tara/Asher)
challenge: #18 - the elements

Tara stood in the shadows, staring at the golden-haired man. He moved his head . "I smell you, witch."

Tara stepped forward, carefully. As usual, his hair covered the scars.

She'd wondered about the scars. Jason warned her not to ask, but suddenly she was sick of not knowing, sick of feeling out of place. "What happened?" she asked softly.

Asher glared at her with icy eyes. "Holy water," he said, his lip curling up into a sneer. "Go away."

Tara sat down. "I didn't know water could burn like that."

Asher looked away to the darkness. "Neither did I."

title: Fire
word count: 100
fandom: Anita Blake (Dawn/Asher)
challenge: #18 - the elements
notes: teh naughty

Dawn fell back on the bed, staring hungrily at the man above her. As he pulled off his shirt, his skin gleamed as if from a fire within. He'd purposefully placed the candles on one side of the dark room so Dawn wouldn't see his scars.

Scars didn't matter. Scars just were, a memory in skin. He'd seen her scars, diagonal slashes that released blood that almost ended the world. He'd made love to her before, and would again, seeing those scars.

This time, Dawn let Asher come to her; held him against her, lit by fire from their candles.

Very nicely done. And nice subtlety in the use of the theme. I feel inspired to work on some of my own.

I think my favorite is Dru and Lana- very good Dru voice and an entirely reasonable thing for her to do. If Dru could ever be considered reasonable.
