Challenge #016: Justice Denied
Jul. 24th, 2005 07:07 pmInspector Dalgliesh stood in a flat that was little more than a pesthole, looking down at a pool of blood which announced to anyone with eyes that a person, an adult, had died right there. In his mind, he could trace the victim’s departure from life as he bled out. The heart, pumping faster and faster as the body attempted to maintain blood pressure in the face of rapid loss of volume, would have given out within minutes, judging by just how much fluid there was.
He wanted justice for the man.
He wouldn’t get it.
Damn the Watchers’ Council.
