Notes: Never thought I'd write a Sandman crossover... but here it is.


They all wanted it. It started with her. Death waited for her but she changed the rules, then her friends did.

The next one; started out like those who came before, in the end she strived for it.

The next strived for it so hard that she slipped; afterwards, even though she still craved it she never went too far.

The change made them think that they really could have it.

They were wrong.

He still gives them dreams. She still takes them in the end. The oldest holds the book that rules them all, forever.

Independence is a myth.

One word to describe Rose? Independence.

She was her own woman, not willing to lead the life of an average person; she took hold of life and made it hers. She travelled time and space.

Then change. First him; he was a new man.

Then her turn.

Maybe it proved that potential wasn't random. She'd already saved the world and she couldn't stay with him. So he took her back, not home, that wasn't her anymore.

She hadn't changed last time, somewhere in her travels she'd changed, or perhaps the TARDIS had done something...

One word to describe Rose? Slayer.
