“Yes, Mum. No, Mum. I’ll do that. Bye, Mum.”
“And how are your parents, Neela?”
She spins round, she hadn’t realised I’d gotten back from work during that call.
“Ray.” If possible she looks even more irritated than she sounded on the phone.
“They’re fine, just another load of orders.”
Orders?
She sighs, “I’ve been to told to go and visit my cousin.”
“A vacation, what’s so bad about that?”
My Neela is one weird chick, hold on, My Neela?
“I guess it’s not too bad really, I mean the weather will be better.”
“Better?”
“May in England, not so much with the heat wave.”
“So, your cousin, what does he do?”
“She. She’s a wa-, uh a researcher at the NWC in London.”
“A watcher?”
“A what?”
“You know, he, they who guide the slayers.”
“H-how?”
“Do I know?”
She nods.
“You think I can play all those gigs in all those dives and not know?”
“Hey, Vi, the slayer I met, she said I should come visit them in London sometime.”
Her scowl prompts me to add, “‘Cause it’s always useful to have a doctor about, why not make it two?”
Why does her smile make me happy?

Buffy take a vacation, Buffy this place sounds nice, how about there Buffy? It’ll be peaceful.
When do I ever get peaceful?
Ok, the Scottish Highlands are gorgeous; I’ve developed a liking for hiking through them. I’ve gotten some gorgeous photos.
What I didn’t expect was to come upon a battle, Britain’s not at war, there’s nothing scheduled to attack, or they wouldn’t have sent me here.
It’s the weirdest battle I’ve ever seen, no down and dirty fighting, just people pointing sticks at each other, and a whole lot of Scream fanatics.
Oh, well, bang goes my vacation.
