Can you help me I need to know how to set the word counter in my microsoft word or the word pad on the pc so I dont have to physcaly count every word. What do I do?

In Microsoft Word you go to Tools and then Wordcount, which on mine is about 3 down on the drop down menu... I don't know about the other.
