She only wrote about him once – to say he’d be coming home with her for Thanksgiving. A brief line about him to Buffy and the others.

Dawn felt… sick. What if they didn’t like him. He was difficult at best. Cool and aloof at others, bordering on downright sarcasm.

Buffy would have a field day.

“You okay?”

“Oh, me? Fine. Just peachy.” Dawn gave him her best smile. “Now… one more time before we get there… what did we talk about?”

“No blasting your family… even if they are weird and annoying.”

Dawn dropped her head into her palms. “Michael…”

Cassie nodded dumbly, watching Xander and his friends move with the kind of precision she’d seen Jack and his team use.

“I shouldn’t have asked.”

He gave her a lopsided grin and went back to the book in front of him, prompting her to remember the one that sat in her lap. A book on demons and magic. Not Goa’uld technology; this stuff was the real deal.

When Xander had said party… she’d thought “balloons” and “cake”.

Who’d ever heard of an Apocalypse Party anyway?

Summary: It was almost scary that she thought his family was normal.

It was almost scary how well she took it… the fact that she found his family to be… normal.

Even he had trouble thinking of them as normal.

The vampire father, for one, was definitely not something most humans would have taken lightly.

But not Chloe.

Connor slung an arm over Chloe’s shoulders as she probed Illyria with questions. Carefully, of course.

Chloe wasn’t stupid, after all.

Well… Unless…

“You’re not going to write an article on this – are you?” he hissed.

The look she gave him was answer enough.

Chloe wouldn’t do that to them… even for an article.

I find I like all these pairings, quite a bit. Then again, anything Michael flavored is good with me! The idea of an apocalypse party is particularly appealing, as is the thought of Chloe pestering Illyria with questions.

Enjoyed all three, but now think Xander & Cassie must be the cutest crossover couple I've heard of in a while!
