Summary: Buffy joins Steve Rogers in the gym.
Notes: Set in the same verse as "Not So Secret" and right after "Deadly Dancing"
“Want a partner?” Buffy asked the man in the boxing ring.
Steve Rogers looked over at the diminutive blonde. “No offense, but I’d hurt you.”
“Are you sure about that?” She smirked.
Maybe women have changed in the near seventy years he’d been asleep, but Steve was sure that they hadn’t changed enough that his super strength wasn't more than this tiny woman could handle. “Fairly sure.”
Buffy walked over to the heavy bag and started punching it and then threw one last massive punch that busted the chain and sent the bag flying.
“All right, we’ll give it a try,” Steve said, inviting her into the ring.
Buffy smiled as she climbed in the ring. They spared for over an hour, evenly matched. Then Buffy had figured out that Steve was still holding back because she was a woman so she knew she could use that against him.
“You ever hit a woman before?” Buffy asked. Steve stopped short on his swing and Buffy swept his legs out from under him.
“That’s not fair,” Steve protested as she climbed out of the ring.
“All’s fair in love and war,” Buffy said, laughingly, as she walked out of the gym.
