Title: Baby Can You Dig Your Man

Disclaimer: I own nothing except the words, and that's probably up to philosphical debate.
Summary: Prince Edward has a serious case of mistaken identity.
Notes: Mmm, this takes place somewhere in S2 or S3 of Buffy. I know the timelines are off, but work with me.



Willow danced around the two combatants. "Would you two stop already!"

Instead they nearly rolled over her.

"Meep!" She jumped back, colliding with Buffy coming up behind her.

"What the--"

"Oh thank God you’re here! You have to stop them!"

Buffy frowned. "Um, unless they’re demons, not really my thing. Who are the happy-to-beat-each-others anyway?"

"Xander and some guy who jumped up out of a manhole!"

Buffy stared. "Manhole?"

Willow nodded furiously.

"Are you sure he’s not a-- Whoa!" She pulled Willow to one side as the fight came back. "—a demon?" she asked once they were safe.

"No, not really. Spidey sense?"

Buffy shook her head. "Sorry. Non-tingly."

Willow twisted on her feet, wringing her hands through her oversized sweater.

"Wait, what aren’t you telling me, Wills. Spill!"

"He took one look at me and started singing about being his One True Love that had to go back to Andulasia with him?"

"Andoo-whosia?"

Willow shrugged. "Then Xander was all ‘No sewer demon’s taking my friend anywhere’, and..."

"Then this. Ye-ah."

"Kinda," Willow said. They watched the fight meander for a while. "So what now?"

"Gossip until they get tired? The new English sub is such a pushover."

This is entirely worth finagling the timelines (and redirecting Edward's magic tunnel to end in Sunnydale). Bravo! [It is well that I was not actually drinking the tangerine-grapefruit soda I have here when I read this....)
