Lorne stood beside the ghost. Warrick Brown was a Las Vegas native the way that none of the other Crime Scene Investigators could claim. Warrick truly knew the underbelly of the Strip and had known since he was ten. The two of them watched the sky slowly brighten.
“So I’m dead,” Warrick said. “My team will catch the killer.”
Lorne had more important matters on his mind. “Are you going to pass on, or are you finally going to accept my job offer and play piano at my bar?”
Warrick laughed. “I might try for a while. Something different.”
“Good.”
