Giles handed back the form. “We need a name.”

“It’s all anyone calls him!”

“Another secondary contact, then.”

Jade considered. “Captain Black’s number’s classif-, um, unlisted, Tohru squashes phones, SuperMoose? Cartoon character. I’m good with this.”

“A relationship is insufficient. If it is a relationship.” Giles’ eyebrow rose.

“Look, just call him.”

Giles sighed and dialed.

“Uncle’s Rare Finds, Uncle speaking.”

“Jade Chan’s uncle?”

“No, Liberace’s uncle! Who calling?”

“Rupert Giles, Summers Academy.”

“Jade in trouble?”

“Ah, no...”

“Then do not waste Uncle’s time!”

“Er, whose-?”

“One more thing: Watchers nosy!” The line clicked.

Jade grinned. “So?”

“Uncle it is.”

I don't know anything about Jackie Chan Adventures, but this was amusing.

JCA was an animated series that ran for five(!) seasons on the WB network from 2000 to 2005. The premise featured Jackie Chan as an archaeologist and Jade as his ten-year-old niece; they were based in San Francisco but traveled around the world Indiana Jones fashion, tracking down magical artifacts and foiling evil supernatural plots -- sometimes on their own, often on behalf of Section 13, a mysterious government agency overseen by an old friend of Jackie's named Captain Black.

"Uncle" (nominally understood to be Jackie's uncle, though this was never formally established) ran an antique shop, studied chi wizardry on the side, and was both perpetually crotchety and perpetually invaluable. "One more thing!" was one of his signature phrases (also "Magic must defeat magic!" whenever Captain Black tried to deal with a demon or other magical threat by mundane means).

Despite jumping the shark in season 5, it's easily one of my all-time favorite animated shows; the writing had the same manic energy and dual adult-savvy/kid-friendly sensibility of the Muppet Show at its zaniest, and yet managed to play the action/adventure elements pretty much straight.
