Dawn gasped as a strong arm wrapped around her waist and the ground disappeared from under her feet. Flying demons?
She struggled and tried to see what had happened to her companion. Every bit of training from Buffy kicked in when the solid 'ground' of a skyscraper roof was under her feet.
"It's okay you're safe now,"
"Safe from WHAT? Some freak in blue spandex that kidnapped me?"
"You weren't in danger?"
"No..."
"You were dragged into that alley--"
"Clem caught me by surprise, that's all."
"Clem?"
"Clem. He's a friend."
"A mutant friend."
Mutant? Sure, why not? "Yeah"
"Sorry?"
