“What happened?” Harry asked. Xander looked at the ground, abashed.

“There was a monkey’s paw… and someone might have accidentally said the words I wish…”

“Seriously?” Harry shook his head.

“Look, the ad said you were a wizard. Can you fix it?”

“Well, it’s no problem to reverse this kind of spell but I thought you had access to a witch of your own?”

Xander coughed.

“Could be a problem,” he said and pointed to the gold statue. “That’s her.”

“Oh my,” Bob said with a barely concealed chuckle. “I would not like to be you when she gets released.”
