He'd seen others like her, through the centuries, the eons, but none of them had been like her. She was a thing of fairy tales and myths and yet she wasn't. She was a girl—no, not quite, not anymore—she was a woman.
A woman filled with so much humanity when she wasn’t even human, well, not entirely. A walking, talking contradiction that astounded, confounded and intrigued him in ways no other ever had.
She was a legend, a brilliant slip of a legend and his companion.
