Summary: Buffy sees a former friend for the first time.

Buffy looked at the half-man, half-machine standing next to Organa, her brain faintly registering him addressing the thing as "Lord Vader," her hand reaching for her blaster. What... what had happened to him? He was supposed to be dead, burned on Mustafar, yet here he was. Black entered her line of sight, and she looked up.

"Commander Summers," he said.

"Aren't you supposed to be swifter, higher, stronger or something when they rebuild you?" she asked, talking before thinking. "Because I think they really screwed up when it came to you." Vader said nothing, staring at her before stalking away.

Totally. Anakin was so annoying I never understood how Padme could stand him. Sure, Vader had a nasty habit of force-choking people, but at least he didn't whine constantly.
