Dawn frowned. Vegas was fun most of the time, but even to a southern California girl, the heatwave outside their front door was oppressive. Over a hundred for the fifth day in a row. Ugh!
On the floor, Lindsey sighed. The two teenagers had been living inside since Monday, unwilling to venture beyond the reach of air conditioning. Buffy rolled her eyes and left them to it. Catherine, however, was putting her foot down.
“I don’t care how hot it is outside. The two of you are turning pale- in the middle of summer! Go lounge in the pool instead!”
