Topher smiled as the new personality of Echo came to life. She was a master manipulator now, who was called Faith. Apparently the assignment was for her to become someone that the Mayor of Sunnydale trusted.
Boyd watched as his Active began to infiltrate the Mayor's inner sanctum. She was ruthless; living by a motto of get some, get gone. That was until she returned to the van for her treatment. According to the surveillance equipment, Faith was still working for the Mayor even though Echo was with him.
DeWitt was going to be furious that they had a breach.

The paperwork before Faith looked tempting. An ability to act without consequences. Did she really believe that it was possible?
“And I won't remember anything that I do in this job?” she asked again.
“Not at all. You will have no repercussions from this position at all; no consequences to deal with,” Adelle replied truthfully.
“And it's only for five years?”
“Five years of service, that is correct,” Adelle smoothly lied.
“Five by five then, I'll sign up for it. I need a chance to drop off the radar for a while,” Faith replied while signing away her whole life.

The mind of Echo faded into the background as the new personality imprint came to the foreground. She loved the outdoors, rafting and rock climbing. Hanging out with Richard was awesome. She was spending time learning new things and Richard could really show her some moves.
Holding onto the crossbow, an image flashed before her eyes. She remembered what it was like to hold a crossbow and aim from afar. She could see herself lining up a man dressed in black, talking to a blonde while she hid on the roof.
She shook her head and aimed for the deer.

Adelle was worried. The Active most requested was beginning to remember things she shouldn't. Even when her mind was wiped clean after an assignment, Echo was beginning to act the way she had before she joined the Dollhouse.
It shouldn't be possible for Faith to be seen in Echo, but Echo's favorite things were what Faith had loved when she heard about the Dollhouse. Her favorite activities included Tai Chi, kick-boxing and general fighting techniques. She would always choose a knife over any other form of weaponry.
It worried Adelle enough to think about sending her to the Attic.

Giles was in a quandary over what he should do. They needed the demons to believe that a Slayer still resided in Sunnydale. He thought he had lost his mind as he was advised by Travers of a possible means of getting a replacement. That he would be able to purchase a girl to become a Slayer. A girl who was practically an echo of her former self.
He thought he had pretty broad morals, considering he had participated in the Cruciamentum quite readily until Buffy was hurt. But after that suggestion he found he still knew what was wrong.

Adelle DeWitt was successful in the way that scared most people, however it was rare that anyone ever found that out except those who could afford the fees that came attached to the merchandise she sold.
“Adelle, lovely as ever.”
“Travers, dear, do try to contain yourself,” she replied with amusement. Travers often had need for a particularly imprinted girl.
“I try but you make it so hard to behave... however, I have a small favour to ask you.”
“No doubt.”
“The demons are tracking one of our girls, so I need someone to act as a decoy.”
“Of course.”

It was one of the more tamer assignments that Echo and Sierra would be assigned to. Assisting a Homeless Shelter in LA fund raise. The owner of the shelter had been owed a debt by Wolfram and Hart, so she had asked for someone to assist in her latest fund-raiser. She never realised that the two were not employees of the law firm.
“Jessica and Madeline?” she asked as she noticed the two girls approaching.
“I'm Jessica,” Sierra responded. “This is Madeline.”
“I'm Anne Steele, I run this shelter and this is what I need your help with today...”

Buffy shook her head as she saw the paper raving about a superhero, whereas the letters to the editor were complaints about him. He had ruined her car, he had caused a crash... woe is me this, woe is me that. It was always the same. Complain about them when they did something good, yet complain if they didn't show up.
Reading further through the letters, another jumped out at her. 'Have you seen Caroline? Missing. Rumors of joining something called Dollhouse. If so, call Paul'.
Dollhouse... the name was familiar some how. Why would someone mention it to her?

Challenge: #078 - Six degrees of crossing over

A/N: I know, using Angel as a separate series is kinda pushing it but then again it was it's own series away from Buffy!
Dawn was practising opening and closing portals while under the watchful eye of Willow. Faith and Buffy were sparring together in the room behind them. Giles was reading over past Watchers Journals, trying to put them in order.
When one of Dawn's portals went haywire, things began to be sucked towards it while Dawn tried to close it down. Before that happened though, a journal was sucked through.
Meanwhile Teyla was returning from the deserted caves on Athos, coming across a leather bound book. She opened it to find that it was some kind of record of a person's life.
**
When Teyla met the members from Atlantis, she was nervous of the weaponry they held but she welcomed them.
After becoming a part of the team, she confided in them about a discovery she had made a year before. She had originally believed the book was about a legend she hadn't heard of before amongst her people but it contained languages she couldn't understand.
The Watcher's Journal as it was called was passed around the linguists on Atlantis, none identifying the language. The only thing they could suggest was send it to Daniel. So it was sent to StarGate Command.
**
After the death of Daniel Jackson, yet again, Jack was left with packing away his belongings. He checked with several of Daniel's geeks as to what could be discarded and what should be kept. The books that were cleared to be discarded, Jack was going to get Carter to sell on eBay.
McGee was concentrating on his next novel, but wanted something completely different for Special Agent LJ Tibbs to investigate. He decided on something paranormal, and went searching for inspiration. He came across a book being sold on eBay called The Watcher's Journal and decided to bid on it.
**
McGee was fuming and DiNozzo wanted to find out why, considering it was usually him that caused McGee to fume.
“Want to share Probie?” he asked.
“Not really.”
There was a rapid flurry of typing on the keyboard and a frustrated groan from McGee followed as he realised the person who won The Watcher's Journal.
“What kind of protection is this? This guy is good,” McGee muttered. “I don't care who you are 'topher', no one is that good.”
Topher, on the other hand was rapidly putting more blocks in place for the already impressive security on the Dollhouse servers.
**
Dr Claire Saunders was not who she seemed, but then so few people in the Dollhouse ever were. After a vision by the new Seer attached to Angel's group, Illyria had been asked to pose as a doctor. Spike had asked her and Illyria had agreed to become Claire.
When she realised one of the Actives was being programmed as a Slayer, she found The Watcher's Journal and stole it from Topher. She then organised to send it to Angel. It would be up to him to pass on to the relevant people within the new Watcher's and Slayer's Council.
**
When Angel received a package from Illyria, he was concerned. Until this stage she had only contacted Spike. Opening the package, he found it contained a Watcher's Journal and knew why it was sent to him. No one within the new Watcher's and Slayer's Council besides Andrew that Spike was alive.
Angel decided to deliver it to Giles personally, to ensure it got to the right person. It also gave him a chance to see Buffy.
Upon handing it to Giles, Angel would never have expected the comment made.
“Bloody hell, that's where it got to! Been looking for it.”

When Angel heard that Faith was missing, he tore through the underworld trying to find someone who knew where she was. There was a reason why most demons respected Angelus, and Angel was bringing Angelus to the forefront as he searched for the truth.
Finally a clue surfaced. One word that kept being spoken in whispers.
Dollhouse.
He found their location and worked his way inside. Like most people would, the guards ran from the sight straight out of a horror movie; leaving him free to work his way to Faith.
“Faith?”
“I'm Echo. Do I know you?” she asked.
