Giles grabbed his sword and flicked on the light.
“Whoever you are, you picked the wrong house,” he called. There was no answer, but he heard a rustle in the corner.
He headed toward it and a few seconds later felt the Buzz of another Immortal. A figure stepped out from the shadows and he recognised Amanda immediately. She stood there like a naughty schoolgirl, and held in her hand a beautiful sapphire necklace. Giles sighed.
“Oh, Amanda. If you wanted it, you only had to ask and I’d have given it to you.”
“Well where’s the fun in that?”
