Summary: Tony probes everyone’s fortune cookies.

Cookies

Tony let out a throaty chuckle. “All right! This is definitely mine – Everything will now come your way,” he said triumphantly, holding up the slip of paper from his fortune cookie.

Ziva tossed a paper wad at his head. “Oh, look, it is correct.”

“Very funny, Zee-vah. What’s yours say?”

She rolled her eyes, but cracked open the cookie anyway. “You may attend a party where strange customs prevail.” A smirk crossed her lips. “That would be any time around Tony.”

Tony glared at Buffy as she laughed. “Oh yeah? What’s in your cookie?”

Buffy stuck her chopsticks into her carton before setting it on the edge of Tony’s desk. She made quick work of her cookie and frowned at the message. Her right hand crumpled it up while her left reached for her carton, only to have it snatched from her fingers. “Hey!” She protested.

“What’d it say?” Tony asked, holding the carton away from her.

“It was stupid, now give it back.” She reached across him, but failed.

“Then you won’t mind sharing.”

Buffy realized that protesting any further would draw attention to how upsetting the fortune really was. “Trust your intuition. The universe is guiding your life.”

Summary: Buffy finds herself in a familiar forest.

I Dub Thee Cocky

“What the hell?” Buffy asked, staring at the men who surrounded her in amazement. The five men were brandishing an assortment of weapons that usually only those in her line of work carried – bows and arrows, a quarterstaff, and an ax.

“Strong language for a lady,” said one of them, stepping forward. “This forest isn’t safe for a lady on her own.”

“I can take care of myself,” she nearly snarled, not liking his cocky stance.

“Master,” the blond one said cautiously, looking over at the one she dubbed as Cocky.

“I’m sure you can, but – “

“Where am I?” Buffy asked, eyeing their unusual clothing – something out of a Ren-fair, only more authentic. Combine that with the strange shifty, shiny swirls that passed over her during her morning walk and she was getting a bad feeling about all of this.

“You don’t know where you are?” The one with a goatee asked with a laugh.

“Just answer the damn question,” she snapped.

“Sherwood Forest.”

Buffy groaned as it all clicked together. “Don’t tell me, you’re Robin Hood and his merry men.”

“How’d you know?” The cocky one asked with a grin.

“I really hate my life sometimes,” she muttered.

Title: While the Storm Rages
Wordcount: 200
Fandom: BtVS/Without a Trace
Challenge: #47 Inclement Weather
Summary: Buffy is moved by a storm.

While the Storm Rages

Buffy stared out at the raging storm and let the power just roll over her. For the first time since moving in with Danny she was thankful his apartment was on the top of the seven-story building. Most days she was cussing the lack of an elevator as she made her way up the stairs, but not today.

Today she reveled at the benefits the extra height gave her. The rain was so heavy she couldn’t see the street below and gave her a sense of isolation. That there was just her and the storm. She could hear the drops of water pounding a loud and fast tempo on the roof lulling her into a state of relaxation.

It never failed – the greater the storm the more she relaxed. She didn’t understand it nor did she want to try, she just accepted it and let the storm recharge her emotional batteries.

Strong arms slipped around her waist and she leaned back to rest against Danny’s firm chest. “Morning,” she said, her voice soft compared to the storm.

“Enjoying the first storm of the season?” He whispered in her ear.

She murmured noncommittally and just savored the warmth of his embrace.
