tthdrabbles drinking challenge
Joe had raised an eyebrow when the pair walked in. He'd hoped they wouldn't be trouble, and couldn't help but be relieved when he after a moment's thought couldn't recall either of their faces from the Watchers database. Relief only lasted a moment. If they were too new to be spotted, they wouldn't be more than an annoyance. If they were old enough to have gotten "lost" or good enough to stay lost...How many centuries had Methos satyed under the watchers radar after all. The older of the two looked mid-thirties. Leather pants, leather duster, a badly scarred throat. The younger was in jeans t-shirt and battered leather jacket. Early to mid twenties with an eyepatch. They ordered their beers and sat. Quietly drinking their way through bottle after bottle minding their own business.
"Aw, hell," Joe muttered when he saw Methos still in the door way scanning the bar, his eyes stopped on the pair in the back. The younger one, with the eyepatch was the one that stilled and stiffened. The older with his scarred throat surreptiously scanned the patrons of the bar with sharp eyes.
"The kid" Methos said sitting at the bar answering Joe's unspoken question.

"Well?"
Wesley glared.
"Go." Xander insisted.
Wesley sighed. It was why they'd come. He went to the bar. "Two more beers please." the bartender moved to get the beers from the cooler. "Adam, it's good to see you again."
Adam frowned.
"Wesley Wyndham Pryce"

Methos gaped. This did not look like the skinny, prissy kid he remembered from his last bout as a student at Oxford. Narrowing his eyes. Yes, he saw the boy he'd known in the man.
"Wesley,"
"My friend Xander is in need of some advice. We're not here for trouble. You were the only one I could think of who might have answers for him. We're not here for any sort of trouble."
"How old is he?"
"Twenty three."
Joe returned with the beer. "Joe knows."
Wesley nodded.
Methos sighed. "How badly is he taking this?"
"He's quite used to the paranormal. "
Methos raised an eyebrow.
"He's friends with two Slayers."
"Complicated, and not the place. Will you help?"
Methos nodded. "For your sake, Wesley, I owe you."
When he got a good look at the Immortal, he appreciated the irony. It was the kid from Oxnard five years ago.
