Faith groaned as she approached the morgue. She hated having to identify baby Slayers who just didn’t have enough experience to avoid ending up dead. They were supposed to go out in groups, supposed to always at least have three people backing them up… but still, the vampires and demons lurking never waited for that to happen.
Krystal had been walking back to her dorm room from the library, she wasn’t on patrol, she wasn’t supposed to have been with anyone… and look where it gotten her. On a metal slab in the Boston morgue… no one deserved to have been killed like that.
Faith had been sent because of her ties to Boston, she would be the person least likely to stick out. Her accent helping her to blend in. But she hated Boston now. Hated the fact that she had been in this morgue before… when her Watcher was killed.
“Miss Lehane? I’m Tru Davies,” a voice interrupted her thoughts. Looking up, she realised she was staring at a mirror image.
“Whoa,” Faith said softly. Shaking it off when the other girl didn’t comment, Faith followed her into the morgue, hoping she could get it over with quickly.

“Missy! You’re late for practice,” a blond called out as Faith jumped off her bike and took a look around Rancho Carne high school. Paying no attention to the call, Faith headed further into the school. When her arm was grabbed from behind, she was careful not to flip the person. She was in a high school, not fighting for her life.
“What’s happened to you Missy?” it was the blond again, and she was looking her up and down. “What’s with all the leather?”
Rolling her eyes, she looked at the blond with a ‘just don’t care’ look in her eyes.
“Wait, you’re not Missy,” the blond suddenly said. “Are you her older sister?”
“Why do you care?” Faith finally answered the blond.
“Cause Missy’s my friend.”
“Missy’s friends with a cheerleader?” Faith almost scoffed. “Next you’ll say you’re dating Cliff…”
“Faith!” a familiar voice called out. Faith turned around to face the new comer with a big smile.
“Hey Missy, blondie here was just filling me in… a cheerleader huh?”
“Yep, taking after you more than you realise,” Missy replied to her cousin.
“Just, don’t end up in jail… so not the fun. Don’t recommend it at all.”
