Kennedy was waiting patiently for Willow to return from London. One benefit of having a girlfriend who was a powerful Wicca was that she never had to wait for her to clear customs.
Kennedy had already tidied their small rental property in DC and had prepared a light snack for Willow since the spell always left her slightly weak. Now though, Kennedy was lazing back on the balcony with the TV on as background noise. When the sun suddenly disappeared, she looked up and noticed something hovering in the sky.
“Damn, this Independence Day is really gonna suck,” she sighed.

After a tiring day at college, Dawn and Mac settled into their dorm room and opened their Chinese take out. Two fortune cookies were on top of the meal.
“Okay, try and work this one out…” Mac said before reading. “You may love the small ones but win the big ones.”
The two girls snorted from trying not to laugh.
“How about this one…” Dawn said once they stopped laughing. “An alien of some sort will be appearing to you shortly.”
“Damn, I wish it could be Clark Kent! Now he’s a mighty fine alien,” Mac said while still giggling.

At the Watchers and Slayers’ Council meeting an item of concern had raised issues to all the Watchers and Slayers near Seattle. Reports had been coming in from all field agents about stumbling across both males and females who had the skills of a slayer but were not actually ones.
“It’s a mystery as to who exactly they are,” Giles reported. “No identifying marks have surfaced at this stage. But we have had word that after the Pulse, there was reports of mutants with enhanced skills around Seattle. The closest lead we have is this newspaper article with a picture of a girl named ‘452’.”
“So where do we go from here?” Willow asked. Giles nodded to Andrew to continue on.
“Firstly, we need to send one of the best Slayers in… either one of the Sunnydale Slayers or Faith. Buffy has requested downtime. We will get all of their security and checkpoint details updated so they can travel through the different sectors. We’re hoping that they will be able to catch up with one of these ‘mutants’ and find out if they are evil.”
“And if they’re not?” Kennedy prodded.
“Try to recruit them for the Council,” Giles replied.
