For so long, Faith had truly never felt that she belonged anywhere. No one she could really call her family or her friend. Buffy and Xander were the closest to it for so long but even then, she never truly understood what they had with each other or with their other friends. Sure, when the potentials were activated, she had her own little group within them but no one who she could rely on, confide to.
So when Willow, Giles and Buffy presented to her the option of heading to Atlantis, she had nothing holding her back. Robin had left her, though it was not his fault. He had died not long after making it to LA.
Now though, now she had found what she had felt was missing for so long. She had people around her that knew what she was feeling, who had become her family. Teyla was her friend, her sister, her confident. Sheppard was her protective brother. And Ronon… Ronon was far more special than she originally imagined.
Sure, she missed home. Missed having Buffy around at times, purely because she knew what she was feeling. But now her new family dispelled any of her homesickness.

Gibbs approached the blonde who was sitting in the bus shelter. He had never seen anyone look so lost, so helpless, so demoralised. Sure, he had broken the news to family members that their loved one had died in tragic circumstances… sure, he had spoken to people who had witnessed murders or other violent deaths. But this girl, this girl seemed to be grieving more than any others he had seen.
When he squatted in front of her, and gently touched her shoulder… the haunted hazel eyes that looked back at him would stay with him forever. Demanding his help.

Date: 2008-02-26 06:58 am (UTC)Yeah, I can see Faith fitting in on Atlantis (though I usually imagine her and Buffy as a lot closer, despite animosity, than you portray them here). One glitch, though: it should be "confidant", not "confident".
Don't know the other fandom, but it does have that "haunted" feeling to it. Good job.
