Summary: Ezra makes a vow.

A Time of Change

Ezra stared at the paper, his mind reeling from the top story. A town most did their best to forget once they had escaped was no more. The authorities blamed Sunnydale’s collapse on the cave system that ran under the entire city, but he knew better. He would bet money that Buffy and her friends were responsible.

He hadn’t stayed in Sunnydale long, just a mere three months before he turned eighteen and was able to escape Maude’s grasp. When he had first arrived, he couldn’t believe his mother had dumped him in such a backwater town.

It didn’t take him long to become aware of Sunnydale’s dark secret, and shortly after that, its gold savior – in the form of Buffy Summers. She raged against the darkness and asked for nothing in return. He had quietly petitioned the school to make sure she was recognized for her efforts on Prom night.

She never knew that or him, but the look on her face that night was reward enough. He turned eighteen the next day and left town. It was because of her he decided to enter law enforcement. Others may forget the town and her, but he would always remember.

A sequel to Introductions

An Old Alliance

Buffy smiled as she saw Harry sitting on the remote bench. He was nice, if not a little paranoid, but he was helping her out. She felt a little bad about lying to him earlier. It wasn’t exactly life or death, at least, not yet. Who knew what the future held, but she needed to get this over with so she could move on to the next man on her list, and therefore get Giles off of her back.

While going through some books that had been saved from the First because of being in another building, Giles had come across a mention of old allies than had been forgotten – the Knights of the Cross. Occasionally they would appear to help the slayer, but they hadn’t been seen or heard of for centuries. Giles had insisted on Buffy finding them and introducing herself, but wanted it to be official-like and give them the option of declining. Hence her approaching Harry Dresden, the only openly practicing wizard in Chicago. She had done some research and knew they were friends.

She only hoped that somehow Michael Carpenter, wielder of Amoracchius, either knew about the alliance or would follow his faith to her.

Interesting drabbles. I don't follow the first fandom, but I enjoyed the mention of someone remembering Buffy as a hero, and that cute statue. And the Dresden Files one! More of that storyline would definitely be welcome.

These make 3/6!
