Alex Krychek sat on the beach staring at the stars, lost in thought. The world at large, and more importantly the Consortium thought he was dead. He wasn't sure how he was alive, even after all this time, and wasn't sure alive was a good thing.

The thing came out of the water. It was brackish nearly black with definite greenish tinge. Mannish shaped, sort of, at least when it came out of the water it was walking on two legs.

"Crap, it's one of the swim team,"

Alex scrambled back not quite registering the voice to the right or the actual words.

"Immortal?" this voice British.

"Yeah," the first voice.

"Yes," another British voice. "So's he."

The sea monster's head was rolling in short order by a kid with an eyepatch and an axe. Then red mist and lightening.

"Gods" British voice two said.

"Well, whoever it was was turned into a demon, Immortal or not, I shouldn't think it would have a normal quickening Adam."

"Ow" the kid groaned after the lightning stopped. "I'm Xander, he's Wes, he's Adam."

"A- Alexii"

"C'mon. Beer and explanations." Adam held out his hand.

"That would be good," Alex agreed accepting help to his feet.
