Scars
His touch was gentle as he turned her arms so that he could see them every way possible before Hank’s eyes rose to meet her worried stare. His fingers tightened around hers, thumbs rubbing the palms of her hands as he stated, “No scars.”
“Nope.” His brows slid lower but the chirp of the doorbell stopped his possible inquiry as Buffy tugged free her hands and stood. “That’d be my tutor.”
Hank sighed before following Buffy and stood back as she greeted Jon. She opened the door wider allowing him entrance and Hank swallowed, stared at General O’Neill’s clone—dammit.
Secrets
She didn’t need Slayer powers or senses to tell her there was something unspoken going on between her dad and Jon. Though more from Hank’s side than Jon’s who was sitting quietly beside her on the couch. She shifted and leaned forward, grasping the one of the text books that Jon had brought and attempted to distract her newest—and only—friend she had made so far.
“You get credit on the English final just for speaking English right?”
She succeeded as Jon gave a surprised laugh and focused on her. “What?”
“English speaking equals easy A.”
“Not really.”
“Crap.”
Daddy Daughter Time
“He seems like a nice boy.”
”That you hate.”
”I don’t hate him.”
”That you hate.”
”I don’t hate him.”
“Please you were very much of the hating.”
“I was not.”
“I had to separate the two of you because of the frosties!”
“I don’t hate your new friend.”
“Pfft!”
“Buffy—”
“Pfft!”
“Stop that!”
“Then don’t scare off my prospective friends who are honeys. A girl needs eye candy you know.”
“Honeys?”
“You didn’t notice Jon is pretty much a hottie?”
”Buffy, I don’t think—”
”Buffy, I don’t think—”
“Please, Dad. I’m so not on the market for a boy of my own.”
“Good.”
”At least not yet.”
”Buffy!”
”At least not yet.”
”Buffy!”
