Every now and then the light on someone’s blond hair would make him pause and chase after an elusive memory.   He could never quite place what that memory was.  It bothered him once, but now he just lets the feeling of that forgotten someone wash over him.

He was, of course, running late to the morning briefing. Something about meeting with members of the Council, whoever they were.  Absorbed in his current translation, he entered the conference room without taking notice of the room.

It wasn’t until the gasped “Danny” that he looked up and saw the blond hair.  “Buffy.”
