tthdrabbles, week 4, theme: Heat - 200 words - exactly. Also, this will make no sense if you have not read the Black Jewels Triliogy - sorry!
The Crossroads was packed to the gills. Sitting on some sort of cosmic G-spot, the bar existed in multiple dimensions and drew the more adventuresome from them all - to drink, dance and work off steam.
Faith scanned the crowd impatiently.
Looks like my informant got cold feet.
With a shrug, she pushed her way to the bar.
"Gimme a Screaming Orgasm," she barked, stifling a laugh as every male within 30 feet turned to stare.
Works every...Hello, she thought meeting a pair of golden, glittering eyes. She could feel his stare prickling up her spine. Is it hot in here or is it just him?
He closed the distance between them, pushing a large wad of bills across the bar. “On me.”
Watching her closely as she reached for her drink, he said too casually, "It is hot and about to get hotter..."
Startled, she almost missed his lightning-quick movement - almost.
He leaned even closer, answering her suddenly suspicious glare, "I added safframate - just a pinch. Ever tried it?"
Safframate? Recognition dawned. He's one of Daemon Sadi's boys. Wonder if the rumors are true. Here’s to finding out..
Slamming the drink back, she grinned. "I have now."
Author's Note 2: My Muse got bored and she simply does not want to work on what I am supposed to be working on. Wondered what sorts of trouble Daemon and Jaenelle's children would be. Once I started thinking about their sons and the likelihood they would follow in their father’s footsteps – I had to write. And I had to write a lot; I am 1000 words into a one-shot PWP expanding on this scene.
