Characters: Buffy, Blade
Once Giles had convinced her that their 'guest' wasn't a hazard (ie: gotten her to put him down), things had been alright. Blade briefed the new Head Watcher and Prime Slayer on the mission of his group, the Night Guards or something. Now they were tense and silent as they waited for Giles to fetch whatever-it-was that he had needed to get.
"So... dhampire, huh? How's that working out for you?" She couldn't really tell, under those shades, but she thought he might be looking at her now. The sunglasses made her a little leery, the coat did too. It brought back Spike-like memories and those were of the bad.
"Pretty well," he answered after a short pause.
"Do you need the glasses, or are they a fashion statement?"
One corner of his mouth tugged upwards, "The sun bothers my eyes."
"But you can go out in it? It doesn't turn you all flamey and ashy?"
"I burn a little more easily than the average human."
"But you could go to the beach, right? That's an option?"
"Are you planning an outing?"
"No," she blushed, "It's just interesting. Never met a vamp who could have fun in the sun."

"Ugh, that outfit is horrible. The boots are ok, except for the cuffs. Why are their flappy cuffs on those nice, leather boots? Velvet is so last century - "
"Um, Cordelia?"
" - the hair is ok... just ok. That makeup though, oh my god! What were you thinking!"
"Cordelia?"
"What Angel?"
"He can hear you!"
"I should hope so, advice this good isn't always free!"
The vampire ground his teeth together, "He isn't here for fashion advice."
The ex-cheerleader looked from her irate boss to the coolly impassive customer. "Fine," she muttered as she headed back out to her desk. "He's not here for fashion advice? Well he should be..." Her words trailed off into incomprehensible grumbles, much to Angel's relief.
"My most sincere apologies, Mr. King. What can Angel Investigations offer you?"
The strange looking, and most likely non-human, man leaned forward, some life coming into his mismatched eyes. "I am looking for a girl..."

A/N: In case it wasn't clear enough, this was five things Cordelia doesn't like about Jareth. Specifically: his outfit, cuffs, velvet, hair and makeup. Oh, she also doesn't like that he might not want her incredibly awesome advice!

Characters: Xander, Giles
He realized in a moment that he'd underestimated the power of the explosives, or maybe it was the Hellmouth catalyzing the blast and expanding it. Regardless, he and Giles were about 0.3 seconds shy of becoming dead, roasted meat.
Giles's hand tightened on Xander's shoulder and the teen felt a pang of sorrow at the thought that their bodies might not even be found. Buffy and Willow would be heartbroken...
Willow, he thought. He couldn't leave his old kindergarten buddy this way. She'd already lost Jesse. Buffy would be there for her but - he couldn't leave his Willow!
Xander's mind cast back, looking for somewhere safe. He pictured Willow's basement, it had sheltered him during some of his father's worst drunken rages. Every detail of the room was sharp. All this happened in a fraction of a second as the air vibrated with more than the force of the oncoming explosion. Suddenly the two men were gone.
A few miles away in Willow's basement, Xander looked at Giles with wide eyes. Some small part of the younger man's brain wondering if maybe he wouldn't need that crap car for his road trip after all...
