Challenge #73: Favorite Things

Just a warning; this is my first attempt at writing anything other than technical documents since I left school, so please feel free to tell me to go away if you want...

 

Giles clung grimly to the side of the rattling cart, gamely trying to keep his breakfast down. One slight slip, a little overbalancing, and the entire thing would fall into a ravine that looked a lot deeper than he dared even to contemplate. He cracked one eye open, saw a rough stone wall just a little too close to his head, and clamped it shut again. Anya, on the other hand, was having the best time of her life. Not only had Giles brought her down here to count some of the money that the Council had hoarded away for the past seven and a half centuries - a process guaranteed to make her giddy with delight - but she was able to have a go on this fantastic roller coaster as well! Maybe she would be able to see one of the dragons they were supposed to keep here. She owned one when she was young, and missed him terribly. She gave a scream of glee which proceeded to make Giles hunch a little further down in the cart.

The goblin at the front just smiled. It could be so much fun watching the humans embarrass themselves every day.
