“It’s a very…nice sword.” Buffy said hesitantly looking at the battered katana.

Willow chuckled at her friend’s expression. “I know it doesn’t look like much but it is a sword forged from the fang of a dog demon with a soft spot for humans.”

Buffy took the sword’s hilt and felt a pulse from it. “Strange. Does it have a name?”

“Tessaiga or possibly Tetsusaiga… I had a bit of trouble translating the Hiragana.” Willow said.

“Since it’s a demon sword I’m guessing it has some kind of special ability or catch?” Buffy asked as she removed it from its sheath.

“It’s enchanted so that no one, human or demon can use it unless they are protecting humans and according to legend it can slay a hundred minor demons in a single strike.” Willow said. “It’s actually half of a pair, but its sister Tenseiga hasn’t been found.”

“It doesn’t look like it could slay a hundred demons.” Buffy said as she tested its weight curiously. “Are you sure this will take care of that Baedeker?”

“Bakeneko.” Willow corrected with a smile at the purposeful name butchering. “And yes, I used it to dust a vamp on the way.”

“Neat.”
